Water Supply and Hydropower

Feitsui reservoir supplies raw water to Taipei Water Department. The average annual revenue from raw water is about NT$121 million. As the Taipei Water Department utilizes Nanshih Creek's natural flow first, if the supply does not meet the demand then, Feitsui Reservoir Administration will then releases water from the reservoir to satisfy the demand. As a result, the reservoir’s revenue fluctuates with precipitation.
A hydraulic power plant with a capacity of 70 MW was installed downstream of the dam to optimize utilization of available water resources. The electricity is sold to the Taiwan Power Company. The average revenue from hydraulic power is about NT$356 million.
