Taipei Mayor Ko Visits Feitsui Reservoir to Hold a Ceremony for the Breakthrough of Feitsui Tunnel Section of Raw Water Pipeline Project

Typhoon Soudelor hit Nanshi River severely in 2015. In order to solve the problem of high turbidity in Nanshih River and lower the risk of water outage, Taipei City Government has been working on the Raw Water Pipeline project from Feitsui Reservoir to Zhitan Water Treatment Plant. After the completion of the project, clean water will be taken directly from Feitsui Reservoir.
The raw water pipeline is 2,766 meters long. Since the start of construction on July 15, 2019, the Feitsui tunnel section (1,152 meters in length) was completed today. Taipei Mayor Ko visited Feitsui Reservoir to hold a ceremony for the breakthrough of the Feitsui tunnel section of the Raw Water Pipeline Project. He appreciated the construction team’s hard work, and prayed for the success of the project which will ensure good water quality for 6 million people in Greater Taipei.
