On August 8th, at 5:28 am, an earthquake of magnitude 6.0 occurred, with a magnitude 3 measured at Feitsui Reservoir. Safety was assured after safety assessment and on-site inspection.

Today, August 8th, at 5:28 am, an earthquake occurred in the eastern seas of Taiwan, with a magnitude 6.0, an epicenter 36.5 kilometers south-east of the Yilan County Government, and a depth 22.5 kilometers. The magnitude measured in Taipei City and New Taipei City was 4, while the dam site of Feitsui Reservoir, 3.
 
At the moment of the earthquake, the Feitsui Reservoir Safety Monitoring System automatically started. According to the Feitsui Reservoir Safety Inspection Operation Regulations, Taipei Feitsui Reservoir Administration sent its crew members to inspect the area of dam on-site, keeping safety assessment and analysis based on prime monitoring data. The result of that showed the safety and stability of the dam of Feitsui Reservoir was assured.
