Typhoon Haikui brought a total rainfall of 218.1 mm (August 31, 2023 to September 5, 8:30 am) to the Shuichuei Reservoir catchment area, with a total inflow of over 36.8 million cubic meters. With careful operation of the reservoir, the peak discharge reduction rate of the Beish River upstream of the Xindian River reached 100% (peak inflow of 465 cms, release of 0 cms), and the flood interception rate also reached 100%. The reservoir water level rose from 159.45 meters to 164.26 meters, effectively playing a role in flood control and disaster prevention.
